When you first start knitting, the all-over pattern stitch seems like a lot of work, but once you get a few dozen rows in, you realize that you are creating a very delicate and handsome fabric. Once you have the feel for the pattern, you quickly fall in love with the unusual effect. And it becomes even more special when you see how the amazing woolfolk TYND blooms with blocking.
There is always the option of skipping the pattern stitch altogether and using stockinette, but I would suggest trying to get the hang of the raindrops pattern. It’s worth it!
